Thames Estuary 2100 project
Green infrastructure and open environments: The all London green grid. Supplementary planning guidance, published by the Mayor of London in March 2012, states: ‘The Thames Estuary 2100 project (TE2100) was established in 2002 with the aim of developing a long-term tidal flood risk management plan for London and the Thames estuary. The project, led by the Environment Agency, covers the Tidal Thames from Teddington in West London, through to Sheerness and Shoeburyness in Kent and Essex. The project has developed an adaptable long term plan in the context of a changing estuary particularly in relation to its climate, people and property in the floodplain and an underlying essential but ageing flood defence system.’
